Flags of micronations

Micronations are ephemeral, self-proclaimed entities that claim to be independent sovereign states, but which are not acknowledged as such by any recognised sovereign state, or by any supranational organisation. This article documents the designated national flags of micronations whose existence is verifiable in multiple, non-trivial third party reference sources, which have been cited in the linked Wikipedia articles for those entities.

Micronization is the process of reducing the average diameter of a solid materials particles. Traditional techniques for micronization focus on mechanical means, such as milling and grinding. Modern techniques make use of the properties of supercritical fluids and manipulate the principles of solubility. The term micronization usually refers to the reduction of average particle diameters to the micrometer range, but can also describe further reduction to the nanometer scale. Common applications include the production of active chemical ingredients, foodstuff ingredients, and pharmaceuticals. These chemicals need to be micronized to increase efficacy.

The MICrONS program is a five-year project run by the United States government through the Intelligence Advanced Research Projects Activity with the goal of reverse engineering one cubic millimeter - spanning many petabytes of volumetric data - of a rodents brain tissue and use insights from its study to improve machine learning and artificial intelligence by constructing a connectome. The program is part of the White House BRAIN Initiative.

A micronation is a political entity whose members claim that they belong to an independent nation or sovereign state lacking legal recognition by world governments or major international organizations. Most are geographically very small, but range in size from a single square foot to millions of square miles. They are usually the outgrowth of a single individual. A micronation expresses a formal and persistent if unrecognized claim of sovereignty over some physical territory. Micronations are distinct from true secessionist movements; micronations activities are almost always trivial enough to be ignored rather than challenged by the established nations whose territory they claim. Several micronations have issued coins, flags, postage stamps, passports, medals and other state-related items, often as a source of revenue. Some of what might now be considered micronations began in the 20th century. The advent of the Internet provided the means for people to create many new micronations, whose members are scattered all over the world and interact mostly by electronic means, often calling their nations "nomadic countries". The differences between such "Internet micronations", other kinds of social networking groups and role-playing games are often difficult to define. The term "micronation" to describe those entities dates at least to the 1970s. The term micropatriology is sometimes used to describe the study of both micronations and microstates by micronationalists, some of whom refer to sovereign nation-states as "macronations". Micronations contrast with microstates, which are small but recognized sovereign states such as Andorra, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City. They are also distinct from imaginary countries and from other kinds of social groups.

Romanov Empire (micronation)

The Romanov Empire, also known as the Imperial Throne, formerly the Russian Empire, is a state proposed by Russian businessman and politician Anton Bakov as a re-creation of the Russian Empire. It would be led by Romanov pretender Prince Karl Emich of Leiningen as Emperor Nicholas III, with Bakov serving as Archchancellor. By 2017, Bakov had alleged to have held talks with the heads of several countries in order to purchase a territory in which to establish a legitimate, "non-micro" state. These have included Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, The Gambia, Antigua and Barbuda, and Kiribati. In early 2017, it was reported that Bakov was interested in acquiring three islands belonging to Kiribati in order to establish a "revived Romanov Empire". On 24 February 2017, the Kiribati government rejected Bakovs proposal for the islands. Bakov later claimed it wasnt the final decision and that it was related to an inner Kiribati political struggle. On 1 December 2017, the Memorandum of Friendship and Cooperation between The Republic of The Gambia and the Romanov Empire was, according to Bakov, signed in Banjul by the Secretary General of The Gambia, Dawda Fadera, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romanov Empire, Modou Lamin Saidykhan, and on 6 December Bakov stated that the Romanov Empire was in talks with five other undisclosed countries. However, on 12 December The Gambia denied that such a memorandum was ever signed.

Micronics was a Japanese video game developer in 1980s and 1990s. It mostly ported arcade games to the Nintendo Entertainment System. Like many video game developers, Micronics didnt credit itself in its games, displaying instead only the name of the video game publisher. While the company is not well known in the game industry, it has produced some obscure titles like 89 Dennou Kyusei Uranai. Kazuo Kazzo Yagi was the main programmer for the games during the NES era. The company hired professional musicians to compose music for its games such as Tsugutoshi Goto, Kimio Nomura, and Joe Hisaishi. The company started to develop SNES games, again uncredited. However, some of its games credited Khaos in the ROM, which is believed to have been Micronicss name while developing SNES games.
